Hearing the Case of BSNL Employee Pandurang Kevne, Bombay High Court ruled out the Petition filed by Pandurang Kevne and stated its suspension Completely Valid.

Pandurang Kevne was Working in BSNL Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), from 1977 as an Examiner. But after 1995 , He started taking Leaves sometimes for months without informing his superiors.

In December 1997, BSNL Initiated the Proceedings for Suspension of Pandurang Kevne , which was challenged by kevne in the Appellate Authority of BSNL and later the Central Government Industrial Tribunal.

After both Authorities find the Suspension appropriate , Kevne Went to Bombay High Court in July 2009 . Court ruled out the suspension as Valid today after finding out the petitioner was least interested in his duty.

According to BSNL Advocate B P Jakhade Pandurang Kevne remained away from work for 355 days; in 1996, for 285; and in 1997, for 245 without informing his superiors, which shows employee lack of interest toward his duties.

Chronological Order of Events :-

In September 1997, After an Year of Leave ,Kevne submitted a medical certificate to BSNL claiming illness. BSNL asked Kevne to appear for Medical Examination.

On October 6, 1997, Kevne appeared before the Medical Board of BSNL and found completely Fit. He was asked to start job the same day.

January 27, 1998.Kevne went on Job , almost 2 months after being declared fit without any leave application for those two months.

After Which BSNL , launched a police investigation and found Pandurang Kevne was running his own Private Business
