GOLDEN TEMPLE also known as HARIMANDIR SAHIB is situated in AMRITSAR,PUNJAB.GOLDEN TEMLE is one of the most famous HOLY places of sikhs.its foundations being laid by MUSLIM saint HAZRAT MIR ji, which was way back in the year 1588 AD. This land was gifted by the mughal emperor AKBAR who visited third guru of sikhs GURU AMARDAS JI in the town named goindwal,AKBAR was so impressed with the life style of the town and he gifted this land to the BIBI BHANI daughter of the GURU AMARDAS JI as the wedding gift.BIBI BHANI was married to the BHAI JHETHA who later on became the fourth guru of the sikhs shri GURU RAMDAS JI. The construction of this holy place was started by GURU RAMDAS JI and the construction was completed in 1574 AD. Previously this place was known as GURU KA CHAK or RAM DAS CHAK, IN 1604 fifth guru of the sikhs GURU ARJAN DEV JI installed the ethernal guru, GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI IN THE GOLDEN TEMPLE and BABA BUDHA JI became the first granthi of the DARBAR SAHIB , later on this holy place of sikhs faced a number of attacks by the mughals.

Prime Minister Worried Due To Steady Decline Of Science Takers After +2

Prime minister Manmohan Singh has expressed its concerns over the declining number of youth opting for science courses after the 10+2 stage and urged the need to bring them into the fold of exciting and stimulating research environment of colleges and universities.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research and the diamond jubilee celebrations of the National Chemical Laboratory.

Prime Minister Said that the India will lose the competitive advantage it enjoys in the research and development sector, if they can’t attract young and motivated people to lead the Nation’s laboratories and Research projects.

‘It is our scientific capabilities that will determine our ability to overcome challenges which lie ahead in areas such as climate change, clean energy, environment-friendly technologies, water management, affordable healthcare, food security and biotechnology,’ the prime minister pointed out

Innovators must be challenged to produce solutions the society needs in a timely manner, and must then move out of the laboratory quickly and gain wider acceptance, he said

Deemed Status of 44 Indian Universities in Danger

HRD Ministry on Monday told Supreme Court that 44 Universities can lose its Deemed status because they are not meeting up the required standards. Most of these 44 universities are in Tamil Nadu. Out of which one university Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai was founded by Union Minister S. Jagathrakshakan

According to Report, 34 out these 44 universities got the deemed status in the tenure of former education minister Mr.Arjun Singh. These Universities are run by private corporate houses and became one of the profitable business for them. Report also says that the number of students enrolled in these universities are beyond their intake capacity.

HRD Ministry also said that out of total 130 deemed universities in India, Only 38 universities are up to standards. Another 44 were found to be deficient in some aspects. They have been given three years to improve their functioning. The remaining 44 have “neither on past performance nor on their promise for the future have the attributes to retain their status as deemed to be universities”.
