According to a report of United Nations Environment , developing countries like India, China and South Africa may have to suffer serious consequences by 2020 if they won’t take strict action to stop the alarming growth rate of electronic waste.

According to UN, By 2020, the size of electronic waste from mobile phones will be 18 times more and the electronic waste from computers will be five times more than 2007. E-waste from Discarded refrigerators and televisions will also become double or triple than the current amount.

The report estimates that India’s current e-waste generation is: 2.75 lakh tonnes from TVs, over one lakh tonnes from refrigerators, 56,300 tonnes from personal computers, 1,700 tonnes from mobiles and 4,700 from printers.

Haryana Government Employees Took Day off For Hooda’s Son Wedding

Work in Haryana Government offices especially in Chandigarh and Panchkula have come to a standstill because most of the Haryana Government Officers took day off to attend the wedding ceremony of Deepender Singh Hooda Son Of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda in Rohtak.

Deepender Singh Hooda is the Congress MP from Rohtak Parliament City and is marrying the daughter of senior Rajasthan Congress leader Ram Prakash Mirdha on February 21, and this is the pre-wedding bash. Around 14 regiments of police was deployed for the security arrangements of this high profile pre-wedding ceremony.

Around 30,000 guests were invited for this event. Traffic to all roads leading to the venue was diverted which created lot of problems for common man. Public transportation services were all stopped for whole day by Government so that guests don’t face any kind of traffic problems.

This is Deepender’s second marriage. The 32-year-old was earlier married Geeta Grewal, a dentist and daughter of a Haryana government official. They divorced in 2005.

AIIMS 2010 Results

All India Institute of Medical Sciences have declared the results of 2010 Post Graduate Entrance Examination. The results are available online on the official website of AIIMS www.aiims.edu.

The examination was conducted in January 2010 and the candidates who’ve completed their MBBS and BDS degrees were eligible for this exam.

MS or MD seats will be allotted to the successful candidates in the government colleges across the country

Mobile Phones Jammed After Action Against Illegal Mobile Towers In Noida

Widespread effects are being observed in Noida(India) after sealing of illegal mobile towers in Noida. 250 out of the 600 illegal towers are already sealed and the action could be taken anytime against the remaining illegal towers. The sudden action against illegal towers have created a serious connectivity problem for the subscribers in Noida region.

According to the guidelines, mobile towers should not be located in the 100 meters radius of schools,hospitals and other residential areas. Also the mobile operator must take a No objection certificate from residential welfare associations.

According to a senior Noida official, it is here that the crux of the problem lies as mobile operators installed towers without taking clearances and now the authorities are sealing all illegal towers.

On the other hand, mobile industry associations are crying foul, alleging that the civic authorities did not give them time or notices before taking action. To get immediate relief, they are even contemplating moving court to end the sealing drive.

The impact of the sealing drive could be seen easily, Consumers are facing call drops and frequent disruption of Internet connectivity.

Meanwhile, the crisis could hit mobile users in Delhi telecom circle if authorities in the Capital decide to follow suit. Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will take up the issue on Friday. Said a senior MCD official, “We are going to meet the deputy commissioners of all 12 zones to assess the ground situation and to verify if the initial list of 900 illegal towers in the city is correct. We will then initiate action against the illegal towers. A meeting with various stakeholders is also expected to take place to discuss the cellular tower policy.”

Work Pressure in WiproTwo Wipro Employees in IT Hub of India – Bangalore committed suicide due to Work pressure at their jobs in Software Giant Company Wipro.

Lakshmi Nair (23), a woman from Kerala was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her house. She was working for Wipro. According to Police, She was suffering from depression from few days. The other suicide was committed by young software engineer called Prince Singla was found dead in his room in Ponnappan Agrahara in Bangalore. Wipro Technologies was the employer in both cases.

Wipro is famous for surmounting work pressure its employees have to face, but the situations are same in all IT companies. Most of the IT company’s employees are from the different regions of the country and have to live alone in Major IT cities where headquarters of these companies are situated. To make their conditions worse these employees have to work in awkward night shifts so that they can deal with US clients of these companies and always have to live under fear of job security.

ISRO Launched Ten Rockets to Study Solar Eclipse

India Space Research Organisation ( ISRO ) launched a series of Ten Rockets to study the effects of millennium longest Solar Eclipse which covered many countries of Africa and Asia on its path.

The fleet of these suborbital rockets were launched to study the effects
of Sun-moon alignment and to study about the impact of such events on photochemistry and electrodynamics within Earth’s atmosphere

The data collected by the rockets would be linked to the observations made from the ground to get insights into various phenomena which occur during the eclipse.

PIL Filed Against CAT 2009 in Karnataka High Court

Harsha Shettigar, a Bangalore-based software professional (aged 26 years), has filed a PIL(Public Interest Litigation) in Kartnataka High Court requesting the cancellation of CAT 2009 Online examination and to re-introduce the old “pen and paper” mode for CAT which is the most competitive examinations conducted by Top Business schools in the Country.

The PIL states that “There were various incidents reported all over the country about the online CAT Examination and students feel that they are being cheated about how IIM is handling this issue . Even though the online method was claimed full proof various incidents of Cheating , reboots, viruses were also reported across the country.”

He added that the questions were repeated from one slot to another, and questions that had appeared in previous years’ exams were repeated in CAT 2009.

He further said the candidates who appeared from the second day had the advantage as they “mugged up” questions from previous years and so, those tested on the first day were meted out “injustice”.

It also said the questions were “all over the Internet in the CAT window period”.

The writ petition has included “Convenor of CAT 2009, IIM-Ahmedabad”, “Director of IIM-Bangalore” and “Principal Secretary, Union of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi” as respondents. The PIL is presently pending for admission before the principal bench of the High Court.

After the Failure of “Ganga Action Plan” Centre Government has started showing interest to Clean Holy River Ganga Again. Environment and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh announced the ” Mission Clean Ganga” Project on Wednesday. Ramesh told that By 2020, No municipal sewage and industrial waste would be Released in The Holy River without Treatment. The total budget of this Project would be around 15,000 crores.

Center Government has Also established National Ganga River Authority (NGRA) authority, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clean Ganga. It is really sad that even after 20 years of Ganga Action Plan and spending of millions of rupees , Ganga is still polluted and Pollution level is increasing every day

According to Environment Minister Ramesh World Back has committed a amount of 1 billion dollar which would be given in next 4-5 years for cleaning up of this heavily polluted river.
