China trying to hack Indian PMO emails

Google allegations of Chinese Government trying hacking the email accounts of Chinese activists and its threat to leave China have created an intense debate. But a media report, which reveals that hackers from China have targeted computers in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) have fueled the issue further.

According to Report Chinese hackers aimed email accounts of National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan, Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrashekhar, PM’s Special Envoy Shyam Saran and Deputy National Security Advisor Shekhar Dutt and 26 others.

The spyware was in the form of PDF file which contains a trojan horse programmed to download files, access email accounts and passwords of desktop from a remote location.

The PMO office has denied reports of security breaches in PMO official emails and called these allegations rumors

Indian Bangladesh Going to Talk on Sharing of River Water

India is going to talk with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s on the controversial issue of Sharing water of Teesta River. Bangladesh Prime minsiter Sheikh Hasina is on her three day visit to India from Jan 10.

The controversy is over the Tipaimukh dam which would help India to tackle floods and also produce hydel electricity. According to report, India has approved the plans of producing 1,500-megawatt of Hydel Electricity from this dam in northeastern Manipur state on the Barak River, which flows through Bangladesh before reaching Bay of Bengal. It was also Proposed by India Government to sell some power generated by dam at cheap prices to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is against this dam, because of the warnings from experts according to which this dam will affect the life of 20 million Bangladeshis living in the northeastern region and would also dry up the two rivers in Bangladesh the Surma and Kushiara.

The main opposition in Bangladesh is by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who have threatened Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to launch a massive protest if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would agree to building of Dam by India.

According to Officials, BNP is opposing the issue for political gains in Bangladesh by provoking the anti-India sentiments. Hasina’s government says it is trying to address nagging power shortages that have slowed industries and kept investors away. Hasina is also likely to discuss buying electricity while in New Delhi.

Amar Singh Resigns as General Secretary of Samajwadi Party

Amar Singh, General secretary of Samajwadi Party today resigned from his post of General Secretary and Spokesman of Samajwadi Party.

According to Sources, Amar Singh has mentioned his health problems in his resignation letter for giving resignation. Mr. Singh last year at the age of 54 underwent a kidney transplant operation in Singapore few months back.

But according to Rumors in political circles, Amar Singh has resigned because of his differences with Akhilesh Yadav, the party’s UP State President and the son of Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, Party Supremo of Samajwadi Party , and with Mr Ram Gopal Yadav, a General Secretary of the party and the former Chief Minister’s younger brother.

Amar Singh has denied all these rumors today and said that his health don’t permits him to handle party responsibilities and Now he want to give more time to his family especially his two daughters and personal life.

Amar Singh also said that he has no issues with Mulayam Singh. According to him Mulayam Singh had given lot of opportunities and support in his life and he would never speak a word against him. Mr.Singh also said that he won’t be retiring from his public life and would be interacting with public with the help of his blog and other means.

Amar Singh also said that his resignation was already rejected three times in the past by Party President Mulayam Singh, But this time he won’t be available for party even his resignation letter get rejected again. According to Amar Singh , He had decided that this is the appropriate time for him to change his priorities from party to his family. Amar Singh also recommended Ram Gopal Yadav for next Party General Secretary in his resignation

Shibu Soren – From Murderer to Chief Minister

JMM chief Shibu Soren today today sworn in as chief minister of Jharkhand for the third time at a ceremony at Morabadi ground in Ranchi withe the support of BJP.

But it is really a shameful for Democracy, when People like Soren who was convicted by Delhi Trial Court for murder of of his secretary Shashinath Jha easily become chief minister of state due to opportunistic alliances of Political parties.

Party like BJP, who was against Soren and calling him a Murderer before elections now supporting him to make its Government.

According to Vijay Nath Jha brother of victim Shashi Nath Jha said ” Now it would be difficult for me to get justice and to fight a legal battle against chief minister. The person should be in Jail. BJP has shown its true Colors by supporting a murderer”

According to Victim Family , They are getting numerous threats from Soren and his supporters to create pressure so that they withdraw case against him. The next hearing on Case is at Supreme Court of India on March 8,2010.

On the Other Hand Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Bhartiya Janta Party gave excuses to justify the BJP decision to Support JMM. But she could not give any answer about the absence of BJP leaders from the oath ceremony of Shibu Soren.

Gorkhaland – Tripartite Talks Fail

Fourth Tripartite Talks between Center,State and Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) over Gorkhaland Issue had Falied.

The meeting was ended yesterday without any Conclusion. Government assured Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) that they would initiate the political discussions on this issue soon.

GJM has relaxed its agitation till Dec 25 and would start its hunger strike December 27 in which students will take part.

Though the state government had announced earlier that no discussion on separate statehood would take place, GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said after the meet: “The discussion was on Gorkhaland statehood only.” “All our deliberations centered around our demand for Gorkhaland state. We want political level talks within the next 45 days,” Mr Giri added.

Till Now there is no political Consensus on Gorkhaland as Separate State.However, GJM supporters have started celebrating considering the outcome as highly positive.

Nitin Gadkari Won’t Contest in Parliamentry Elections

After New BJP President Nitin Gadkari Demand of Vidarbh as Separate State more than two-decade long Shiv Sena-BJP alliance which was created by BJP Leader Pramod Mahajan is Now In Danger.

The latest development, which could damage the already fragile ties between Sena and BJP, is reports that Sena did not give its second preference votes to BJP during the voting for legislative council seats from local self-government bodies on Friday.

For the two seats from Mumbai, which saw a triangular fight, the Shiv Sena and the Congress seem better placed than the BJP, with the Sena, which has the highest number of corporators in the civic body, not casting second preference votes for ally BJP.

Gujarat – Voting Would Be Now Compulsary in Gujarat

Gujarat Has become the First State of India where Voting is now mandatory in all Local Body Elections.

This Happened on Saturday Controversial local bodies’ bill was passed by Gujarat assembly

This bill would make voting mandatory in elections to all seven municipal corporations, 159 municipalities, 26 district panchayats, 223 taluka panchayats and in 13,713 village panchayats of the state.

The opposition, led by Congress, opposed the mandatory voting provision
and said that it was contradictory to the constitutional provisions,
but supported raising of seats for women where as chief minister Narendra Modi termed it a “move to strengthen democracy”.

This bill raise the reservation of seats for women in local self governance bodies from 33% to 50%, which was supported by Both Political Parties
