Eden garden,popularly called the Lords of ASIA, the oldest indian cricket ground may not be able to host the INDIA-ENGLAND worldcup match on feb27 due to the incomplete ground infrastructure.firstly RAMESH PAWAR the president of the ICC decided to change the venue for the INDIA-ENGLAND match because of the no assurance given by the cricket association of bengal (CAB) but due to the plea made by the chief minister of the bengal ICC reconsidered the decision of changing the venue and has given CAB the final deadline of feb 7.According to the CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya the visit to check the work was made ecactly 30 days before the match date and they have much time to complete the work.Now the BENGAL government is also looking into the progress of the work to bring back the shifted match to kolkata.

To represent indian squad in the worldcup.the names included in the squad are Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain/wk), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin, Ashish Nehra .the main surprise is the selection of the off spinner R Ashwin and the leg spinner piyush chawla but indian skeeper Mahendra Dhoni justified the inclusion of the piyush in the squad saying that piyush will add a lot of variety including googly in the indian attack he also added that pisyush is also good with bat as he scored good in the ranji matches.Dhoni said that Piyush is picked as a allrounder.Wasim Akram also supported the selection of the piyush in the squad because of his good performance in ranji matches but the omission of rohit sharma from the squad surprised wasim very much.indan formal captain sourav ganguly said that the selection of only 1 wicketkeeper surprised him a lot Ganguly termed it a gamble to pick only one wicketkeeper in skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the extravaganza that will continue in the subcontinent for about 40 days.

Ron Dennis, chairman McLaren Automotive said ” The high-octane MP2-12C super car is gearing to hit the world’s emerging car markets like India, China and Brazil to name a few.”

The car is expected to be priced between Rs. 87 lakh to 1.22 crore in India. All McLaren cars would be manufactured at the McLaren Production Center in the UK.

McLaren MP4 sports car contains twin-turboV8 engine with about 600 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque that enables the car to accelerate speed from 0 to 60mph in less than 3.5 seconds and before you swallow that lump in your throat, this car will have a top speed of more than 200km/h, isn’t that amazing?

Australian Cricket Players to shun IPL3?

According to media reports from Australian Newspapers “‘The Age”, Aussie captain Ricky Ponting and his teammates may take a decision of not to participate in latest season of IPL ( Indian Premier League) which is scheduled to start from March 12,2010. According to Report, Aussie players are worried about their security after political party Shiv Sena had said that they will not allow any Australian Player to play in Maharashtra, to retaliate against the racial attacks on Indians in Australia.

Around 30 Australian Players have to play from various teams in this league. Australian Player Pil Hughes said ” I want to play in IPL but really worried about the issue of safety. I am going to attend the players auction which will be next week and see what happens.”

Australia captain Ricky Ponting, who is contracted with Kolkata Knight Riders, made it clear that the players would demand safety assurances before leaving for India.

Chief executive of the Australian Cricketers’ Association Paul Marsh said ACA was concerned with the development.

“The ACA is concerned any time there is a specific threat made against Australian cricketers,” he said.

Kings XI Punjab Yet to Make any Profit From IPL

Kings XI Punjab CEO Anil Srivatsa on Friday Said “Most IPL teams have not made any Profit from IPL (Indian Premiere League) and Kings XI Punjab is one from them. Sponsors have made investments in Kings XI Punjab and it will take time to reap the benefits”

Anil Srivatsa also added “The Franchisee cost of Rs. 350 Crores (USD76 million ) which they had committed to BCCI for Kings XI Punjab for time span of Ten years , and are expecting break even Point by 2011″. According to Srivatsa, Shifting of venues of matches to South Africa increased the cost burden as most of the sponsors were not interested to sponsor matches in South Africa.

Kings XI Punjab Senior vice-president Arivnder Singh said ” We are spending 70-80 crores on Marketing each year and paying 30-31 crores to our players. We are doing negotiation with 7-8 companies from FMCG and Telecom sectors to sign up the sponsorships for IPL this year”.

KXIP, is owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and industrialist Ness Wadia, and current Sponsors of Team are Fly Emirates, Pepsi, Gulf oil, Reebok and UB.

Sheila Dikshit Praying for Successful CommonWealth Games

A day After talks with Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said she is really nervous and worried about the successful completion of Venues for CommonWealth Games which are going to held next year. It is to be noted that Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell expressed “great disappointment” for the delay in venue construction on his meeting with organizers of CommonWealth Games Committee of India.
