Punjab Going to Adopt Health Care Model of Tamil Nadu

Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal asked officials to create a report on the feasibility to adopt health Care Model of Tamil Nadu which is the most recognized and successful state health model in the Country. Badal has asked official to implement all recommendations in Time Bound manner

This decision was taken on the basis of recommendations made by review committee National Institute of Health & Family Welfare (NIHFW) for the operations of the healthcare institutions functioning under the Punjab State Health System Corporation (PHSC).

According to Report, amil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Ltd (TNMSCL) supports the government by helping in arrangement of High Quality Drugs and surgical items in Timely Manner for around 11,000 institutions, which includes all medical teaching institutions, secondary-level hospitals, primary health institutions, ESI hospitals, panchayat union dispensaries, prisons, maternity institutions and local bodies medical facilities.

The committee also recommended PHSC to Provide Free health services to all BPL patients.
