Punjab Government inviting Bids for 10 Mini Hydel Projects

PEDA(The Punjab Energy Development Agency) has invited bids for development of 10 Mini Hydel projects on the upper Bari Doab canal system (UBDC) on Tuesday.

The project would be given on the Build, Operate and Own (BOO) basis under NSE-2006 policy.

According to PEDA ” The collective power generated by these hydel plants would be 84.25 MW.”

PEDA also told that Punjab has developed a technology to produce electricity for the flowing of rivers and is aiming to generate 200 MW of electricity by next financial year and would try to get a subsidy package from Central Government for producing electricity in this sector.
