The network connectivity of the state owned mobile phone service provider BSNL went down for about an hour following a technical hitch in the city of Chandigarh on Thursday.
The issue popped up making the mobile services because of snapping of the optical fiber cables subsequently affecting approximately a dozen BTS (Base Tower Stations) at some specific areas in the state of Chandigarh which included sectors 17 and 34.
The problem began at around 11:20 p.m. and continued till 12.25am.

State Owned Telecom Giant BSNL has banned Chinese Vendors Huawei and ZTE from bidding for its Rs 2,000-crore contract for supply of 55 lakh GSM lines for its Northern and Eastern zones. BSNL has confirmed that only three Western vendors — Ericsson, Nokia Siemens and Alcatel Lucent — can participate in the bidding process.

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.) 3G service have now more than 7.5 Lakh subscribers in South India. BSNL has launched its 3G services few months back in its Tamil Nadu Circle and were able to acquire more than 7.5 lakh subscribers.

Moving one step closer to its first global buyout, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.) Government owned Telecom operator company have entered in to the second round of bidding to acquire a majority stake in Zambia’s leading telecom company Zamtel.
BSNL is one of the four bidders who are selected for the next round of bidding, which is scheduled to start next week. The winning bidder would get 75% stake in the company as confirmed by the Zambia Development Agency.

Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Ludhiana is ready to take action against the defaulters who have not paid its bills and now switched to other Telecom operators.

Hearing the Case of BSNL Employee Pandurang Kevne, Bombay High Court ruled out the Petition filed by Pandurang Kevne and stated its suspension Completely Valid.
Pandurang Kevne was Working in BSNL Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), from 1977 as an Examiner. But after 1995 , He started taking Leaves sometimes for months without informing his superiors.
