Tata Motors – No Increase in Nano Prices
Tata Motors today announced that they would deliver all outstanding bookings on current prices despite of rise in cost of raw materials and manufacturing costs.
According to Managing Director of Tata Motors ” We would execute all the orders committed and with in the scheduled deadlines”
Tata Motors had selected around 1.55 lakh customers from total of more than 2 lakh applications in June 2009 for Its Cheapest Car NANO. Out of 1.56 lakh , only 13,000 cars had been delivered till November 2009.
According to Prakash Telang manager on Tata Motors ” Company would increase the price only on the next batch of delivery after completion of 1.56 lakh committed orders”.
According to Company they would deliver 1 lakh cars by March 2010 and remaining 56,000 cars during the next phase of production.
Nano is Being manufactured in its Pantnagar plant in Uttaranchal, which has an annual capacity of 50,000 units. The other Production plant in Sanand, Gujarat would be ready by next year and would be having production capacity 3.5 lakh units a year.
